Tape offers polyethylene backed film tapes with rubber adhesive systems, also commonly known as PE tapes.  This product is highly versatile and used in several applications for sealing, bonding, wrapping, splicing and surface protection.  The PE film backing is conformable and easy to work with and offers a rubber adhesive system that is aggressive with immediate bond but removes cleanly from most surfaces. One of the applications where Polyethylene Tapes excel is as a vapor barrier tape due to their strong chemical and moisture resistance.

1. Good temperature resistance:

Fire-resistant electrical tape is typically made from durable materials such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), which can endure higher temperatures than standard tapes. These tapes are coated with flame-retardant compounds that significantly reduce the risk of ignition when exposed to heat or flames. Some products may also have a backing made of fiberglass or other inherently flame-resistant materials, adding an extra layer of protection.

1. Durability One of the primary benefits of butyl weather stripping is its longevity. Unlike traditional weather stripping materials such as foam or vinyl, butyl can withstand harsh weather conditions without deteriorating. Its resistance to UV rays and various chemicals ensures that it maintains its shape and functionality over time.

This tape can be used for wire identification, seaming and splicing of films, and surface protection. Available colors are clear, black, white, and red. Widths range from one-fourth of an inch (6 millimeters) to 44 inches (1,118 millimeters).

For example, PVC electrical tape can withstand temperatures up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit, while rubber electrical tape can handle temperatures up to 221 degrees Fahrenheit.

Take the tape and cut it to your required length using scissors or a stanley knife

Inexpensive, incredibly effective and easy to use, it remains flexible in both intense heat and freezing cold and resists breakdown in extreme temperature variations.

These adhesive have higher tack (again “stickyness when dry” for the layman) than acrylic adhesives as well as higher shear strength but they have limited UV resistance. These are used in the cheapest tapes on the market, but have limited applications. Natural rubber adhesives are used in duct tapes, low-temperature masking tapes and surface protection tapes (think of the tape you get on your new fridge or stove).
