Le lithopone, blanc de lithopone ou blanc de Comines est un pigment blanc composé d'un mélange de sulfure de zinc et de sulfate de baryum, généralement en proportions équimolaires.

China’s TiO2 exports were booming in 2016. The continuously depreciating RMB and the increasing export scales of China’s manufacturers have strengthened this development throughout the year. As a fact, many of China’s producers exported their products with a lower price while achieving higher profit margins in the domestic market of TiO2. Tranalysis, a trade analysis provider, now reveals the top 10 Chinese TiO2 exporters of the year 2016 with the original data of China Customs.

Yet another study, this one published in 2006 by the International Agency for Research on Cancer said there was insufficient evidence to conclude that titanium dioxide causes cancer. However, the study also categorized the ingredient as a potential human carcinogen.

Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a naturally occurring mineral that is mined from the earth, processed and refined, and added to a variety of foods, as well as other consumer products. White in color, it is used to enhance the color and sheen of certain foods and is also key for food safety applications. In its natural state it exists in different bulk crystalline forms, such as anatase and rutile, but during processing it is ground into a very fine powder.

When E171 is part of a food product, it passes through the digestive system without causing harm because E171 combines with the other ingredients. 

Lithopone is added to plastic resin systems to enhance UV protection of the final plastic products that includes outdoor plastics and automotive plastics. It is used as a white pigment for plastics such as polyolefin, vinyl resin, ABS resin, polystyrene, polycarbonate, nylon, and polyoxymethylene (POM). It ensures that UV rays do not penetrate and damage the product and its appearance.  

By September, demand in the construction sector had significantly increased; however, resurgent cases of virus hindered the anticipated recovery in demand. However, due to a severe fall in market fundamentals in some end-use areas, its prices had significantly faded by quarter-end. Delays in a number of commercial projects, followed by a poor recovery in the downstream automotive market, were identified as primary causes of the protracted recovery curve.
