- There are two main types of spark plugs commonly used in dirt bikes standard spark plugs and iridium spark plugs. Standard spark plugs are made of a copper core surrounded by a nickel alloy, while iridium spark plugs have a fine wire center electrode made of iridium, a precious metal known for its durability and high melting point. Iridium spark plugs are more expensive than standard spark plugs, but they last longer and provide a more consistent spark, resulting in improved engine performance.

Materials for Oil Seals
Before installing the oil seal, it is essential that the oil seal, shaft and bore are not damaged. So, ensure that the surfaces the oil seal comes in contact with do not have any sharp points or burrs. The sealing lip is fragile, so any minor damage to it can cause leakage. Also, make sure the oil seal is clean. Even a small amount of dirt can cause a leak. Therefore, never use a pre-used oil seal for the assembly.
Figure 4 shows the features of a JTEKT oil seal.
Thoroughly clean the area around the oil seal and check how it is fitted. If you cannot see the outer end of the seal, remove the timing-belt cover or chain cover (not the belt or chain) and possibly the water pump (See Replacing a water pump ) to reveal it. On an engine with a belt-driven overhead camshaft , remove the belt and its drive sprocket .
This represents a new generation of oil seals.

2) Special seal types and their features
Temperature - Just like pressure, the temperature that your oil seal will be operating in must be known so that you can choose one that can withstand the heat or cold. PTFE have the widest range of temperature, making them useful for machines who can see usage in extreme weather or elements.
The sealing lip is always made of a rubber or synthetic material. For oil seals with a rubber outer case (R, RST, GR, GRST), the rubber quality of the sealing lip and the outer case are the same.
