The only real drawback is that this is not a suitable material for a privacy fence, but that is the case with nearly all metal fences.

Cost Considerations

Plastic taps are renowned for their lightweight nature and resistance to corrosion. Often made from materials such as PVC, nylon, or polypropylene, these taps are ideal for applications where exposure to water, chemicals, or harsh environments is a concern. Their corrosion-resistant properties make them particularly popular in agricultural settings and industries dealing with acids or bases.

Wrought iron, on the other hand, has more of a fibrous internal structure with grains running through it almost more like wood as a consequence of the extensive heating, hammering, and layering process that it undergoes. (And the higher the quality of the wrought iron, the more extensive this process will be.) That means that the final product is extremely strong and less likely to break under force rather than bend. This makes cast iron the better choice for holding up against constant pressure.

While it does require more maintenance to prevent rust and corrosion, the effort is often considered worthwhile for the unparalleled elegance and robustness it brings to your property.

The surface of the wood grain finish should be smooth and flat, and no obvious inclusions. The wood pattern is clear and there is no obvious leakage and crease. However, creases and no wood grain patterns are allowed at the corners and grooves. If the wood grain pattern is ghosted or blurred, the finish is unqualified.

Columns are the round or square pillars, posts or poles that flank an entranceway, and a cover flange or escutcheon is a piece of metal that is used for decoration or protection. These are typically found around the base of a post or at a point where the rail ends against a solid wall.
The decorative pieces that sit atop a post on a wrought iron fence in order to cover it are called post caps. These keep debris and water from building up inside the post, and they come in a range of designs from ball style caps to less ornate ‘flat’ or ‘standard’ post caps.
